If it’s the same person he purchased 39.06 ac (#12208) on 1 Jul 1857 1NWSE Tallahassee twp 6N, R 8W, sec 1. He bought for cash 40 ac in Houston Co AL on 1 Sep 1860 twp1N, R30E, Sec 28 at the Elba land office (AL2510.281). He m Mrs Margaret Priscilla Bordeaux (PITTMAN) BROWN, a wd, 12 Oct 1859 in Henry Co AL (lic dtd 8 Oct 1859 Henry Co). Priscilla b 17 Mar 1828. On 9 Jun 1860 they liv in Beat 1 of Woodville, Henry Co (p9Stm9HH#57/56im13of35) PO Open Pond; he was 22 b FL & Margaret was 32 b GA; also liv w/ them are Eliza BOIT age 18 b FL & Henry H BOIT age 10 b AL. Their persn prop was valued at $2000 & real est at $7000. Aaron ODUM was their neighbor. In 1860 ag census Joseph H shown w/ 80 ac of improved land & 420 acs unimproved land worth $2000. He had 30 cattle & 35 pigs etc. Joseph serv dur CW & d abt 1863 when his est probd as case #107, Box 3 folder 9 (1863) Henry Co w/ Margret BOIT as adm (Ancim191-210 of 1816). Im 192 shows resignation of adm & Guardian R “Folio 490 No 107”; inventory & appraial (im 193) for Joseph H BOYT. Margaret P BOYT filed report 14 Mar 1863 showing his land worth $1116.50 in Henry Co. It also states “Recorded in Orphans Book N Folio 277”; wits: Joseph W SPEIGHT, Aaron ODUM, & A J HAMILTON (im195). Im 198 shows that he d bef 31 Jan 1863 when the former were appointed to appraise his est & (im200) Margaret P BOIT was appointed adm. On same date Margaret w/ F B WAKEFIELD & John M BOWDEN sec’d bond for $2000; all 3 signed their names. Margaret used BOIT spelling (im 202-4). A ltr dtd 11/62 from F B WAKEFIELD requested ltrs of adm for Margaret & used spelling BOYET (im207). The next loose p (im208) shows that Margaret resigned, filed 16 Jan 67 & recd in orphans Book R folio 491, “paid 2,00” signed by the judge. Im 209 states that costs for the land remained unpd & G W PETTIMAN had filed a ct case in Abbeville; she resigned on 16 Jan 1867 (im210); she signed “Margaret P Boit”. Fam recs on Anc show her full name as Margaret Priscilla Bordeaux PITTMAN who m (1) BROWN & m (2) BOIT; she was dau of Margaret Priscilla Bordeaux EVANS & Timothy PITTMAN. Margret BOYETT age 42 b AL & dau Callie age 9 b AL liv in PO Abbeville, Prec 1, Henry Co on 27 Aug 1870 (p31Stm286HH#252/252 im31of46). John T BROWN age 21 b GA liv adj (#253); Elmirah PITTMAN age 26 b AL liv w/ BROWN. Callie m in 1876; her m rec shows “Callie Boyt” while her mother’s name on same cert shows “Mrs M P Boit.” On 19 Jun 1880 “Drucilla” liv w/ J T BROWN age 34 b AL, his wife Alice & 3 children in Decatur Co GA (ED14p38bHH#348/402im14of52). On 27 Jun 1900 “Persilla Boytt” b Mar 1828 in AL was m-n-l of Robert McLenden (b Dec 1854 GA). Her dau/his wife Callie b Dec 1860 AL; they had been m for 24 yrs; Callie was mother of 7; 7 liv. Callie gave her father’s b pl as unk. Persilla is shown as mother of 1, 1 liv (ED82Stm19aED HH#342/351im37of42). She d 13 Apr 1902 & is bur Gordon Cem, Houston Co AL. Child: Margaret Caledonia “Callie” BOYT b 10 Nov 1860 Henry Co AL & m on 7 Dec 1876 to Torrence Robert McCLENDON in Henry Co AL.
